Fran Young

Franchine (Fran) Young is the SUSTAIN CDT Project Co-ordinator at Queen’s University Belfast, based within the School of Biological Sciences. She supports the effective delivery of the programme at Queen’s and works collaboratively with the wider SUSTAIN support and management teams across the four partner universities.

Fran brings more than 20 years’ experience across Queen’s University Belfast, Ulster University and the voluntary sector, including project coordination, mentoring, student support and multi-agency working. She is also a trained Mental Health First Aider and the founder of an award-winning business.

Fran particularly enjoys organising and planning, coordinating multiple workstreams and bringing structure to complex activities. She brings a supportive, organised and people-centred approach to her work with SUSTAIN students, supervisors and partners.
