About Me
Nir Oren is a Professor of Computing Science at the University of Aberdeen, where he also serves as Dean for Research Performance. He is a leading researcher in multi-agent systems, with particular expertise in formal argumentation, computational trust theory, and norm-based reasoning. Professor Oren's core research interests revolve around about advancing strategic reasoning in complex, uncertain environments, and his work has contributed to domains ranging from persuasive technologies to explainable AI. He actively supports PhD students and is committed to fostering rigorous, impactful research. His recent projects include responsibility-aware strategic reasoning and patient-centred explainability in medical AI systems.
